We moved a few times because of my husband's work and when living in Bryan, my daughter came home from school one day and told me she had told her teacher I would take care of her baby after she gave birth so she could go back to the classroom. It turned out to be the best (offering of me) my daughter could have done, as I did care for her infant for several years and became fast friends with the family.
When moving to Texarkana, I met an ER doctor who was getting ready to go back to work after having her baby and I began with their family until we moved (5 years later) but the little girl would come and spend weeks at a time with me, she was truly one of my own kids. The mother and I are still best friends and we are all family.
Upon returning to Beaumont, I worked at a substance abuse facility for over 5 years but finally had to leave it because it was too hard on my heart.
I would like very much to get back to the babies, for that is where my love is. When not working, I am an artist, novice gardener and avid reader.
I am a compassionate and loving person who always strives to be the best I can be. I will never be just a "babysitter", I give my heart to it.
