I have been working with and under the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center, as a caretaker for my younger sister who as Asperger Syndrome, which is a form of autism. I have had the pleasure of being able to work with my own sibling because no one knows her best then I do. This led me to really study her diagnosis because one day I want to become a special needs teacher. I have also volunteered some of my time at Progressive Resources, which is a program for kids of all ages and disorders, ranging from very low-to high functioning children. There is a very big demand for caretakers, teachers, and people who simply need to know about these everyday common disorders, because each day we are learning that there are more and more diagnosis out there.
