Caring for children with special needs is my passion. I have experience for caring for children with emotional disabilities/mental illness, autism, multiple developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and children who need help with all activities of daily living, from wheelchair transfers to diaper changes. I often provide OT and PT to supplement regularly scheduled therapy as well. I have provided end of life care to one boy, whom I had worked with for over a year. The kids I have worked with have taught me more than anyone else could - the positive attitudes and resiliency I get to see regularly is inspiring. I am currently a biomedical major, in the hopes of becoming a surgeon that works with special needs kids as this is a severely under served part of our population. I have my QMAP (medication administration) and my BLS (CPR for healthcare providers). One of my favorite things to do is creating an educational and community based environment for the kids I work with. We frequent the zoo, the library, the botanical gardens, the mining and art museums, and parks.
