Leo was introduced to us by an agency we used to assist my father in transitioning when he received a terminal diagnosis. Although my father's mind was strong and wanted to live, his body was not cooperating, he had heart and lung disease. Leo was not only medically, and physically capable - helping with everything from bathroom trips to breathing treatments to catheter emptying to wound care - she also became an anticipated friendly face for my father, and a person he could share TV shows, political discussions, movies, and as time went on, his anxiety and fears. Leo was a comfort for him when I could not be there, working the night shift, and allowing me to rest confidently, knowing he was in the right hands. She was a comfort for me because of her demeanor and expertise. She was diligent with the entry of record keeping and followed our directions unwavering, even as they changed daily. She was also readily available to jump on extended and extra shifts if others cancelled.
