Hi, I'm Lena and I am a freshman at the University of Delaware. I am majoring in Elementary Education with certifications and a concentration in Special Education. I have had ample experience in the past working with special education students because my sister is one. My sister has Williams syndrome, and because of that, I have had much exposure to working with other children with disabilities. Every other year, my family attends a national convention whose location changes each time. While at the conventions, instead of being a camper, I volunteer to work in the daycare center. Along with these national conventions, my family is very involved in the organization so we also frequently attend smaller get-togethers and host families at our house, where I am generally the one watching the children, as the parents like to catch up, ask how the development of their child compares with others, and so on.
