I m a nanny who is a role model. A self-employed writer and English tutor, I have been supplementing my income with childcare for more 50 years. I was in a very happy nanny share that ended only when one family withdrew for reasons unrelated to my performance. I want to start a new job in mid-July; in the meantime, I'm accepting evening and weekend assignments.
I consider childcare an honorable occupation that requires intelligence, imagination and integrity. My clients appreciate the fact that I m not a typical sitter. Parents value my sophistication, candor, and genuine engagement with their children. (I have toilet-trained several toddlers and taught 2-year-olds to read.) Kids of all ages like me because I m warm, gentle, and playful.
I m seeking at least four days a week in a household no more than 30 minutes from my home by bicycle or public transit. I have a license and an immaculate record, but I don't own a vehicle. I am certified in CPR and First Aid for infants and children and I am training to be a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children in the District.
If I sound like someone you want in your family's life, please contact me. After we talk, I ll be delighted to share my letters of recommendation, as well as my many current and past references.
