I have been dedicated to Eldercare since my first job at the age of 16. Beginning at a Nursing home run by the Sisters of Ottawa, I learned a Very Strong Work Ethic with an even stronger Set of Skills. Holding the hand of an aging member of society while they regaled stories of yesteryear or spoke of their feelings created a passion for my desire to seek Dignity for these Special members of my community. I have a Unique Ability to patiently calm/redirect an agitated client.
Working at Tewksbury State Hospital(1986)gave me the opportunity to work with clients with an array of physical/mental disabilities. Working under nurses with many years experience I learned to multitask as being short staffed, every minute counts. Caring for clients with Tracheotomy and many other apparatus is not foreign to me.
Emergency Procedures were learned as I worked at St. Joseph Hospital (1988). I have the ability to think fast and react saving precious moments, while keeping client calm and reassure.
