Meet Leah
** I would like to announce that I have excitedly taken the position of Educational Director of the Boys & Girls Club. I am available for occasional babysitting but nothing more. Thank you very much for viewing my profile, good luck on your search!**

I am a caring, lively, educated, 26-year-old woman that absolutely loves working with children. I have both a master's and bachelor's in elementary education, so I have tons of experience working with children. I am a versatile tutor and mentor open to providing either or both services. I also have 10+ years of nanny experience including but not limited to infant care, multiple children, and twins.

I have my own vehicle, a Toyota Highlander. I also have my American Red Cross pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED certification. Being a Florida native, I grew up with a pool, used it often and have some life guarding experience! I also helped teach swimming in high school at the local YMCA so I am very comfortable with children around water.

I practice yoga and meditation, love the outdoors, sports, and art & crafts. I can cook for various dietary restrictions, needs and allergies and don't mind doing light housekeeping.

I am authorized to work in the U. S. in any capacity, have a spotless driving record, am a fluent and native English speaker and a non-smoker.

Please feel free to contact me with any and all questions you may have.

I co-taught with Leah during her graduate year in a 7th grade life science classroom. Leah's passion for science is evident and her ability to transfer her knowledge to her students in a way that really sticks with them is impressive. She specializes in working with at-risk and under-performing children, and students with emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities. Her lessons, tutoring, and mentoring are primarily inquiry based and focused on hands-on experiential learning. We started a class garden and her ability to provide a fun, engaging, rich, activity that goes across curriculum shows her true ability as a creative and thoughtful educator. Leah valued getting to know each of her students and gaining their trust and respect. As her former co-worker I can say that she is dependable, prepared and very creative. Posted Apr 18, 2012
