Senior care is something I am super passionate about! My sophomore year of high school I took my EMR and First Aid/CPR class at my local technical college in plan of getting my EMT certificate this up coming summer. The summer after my junior year of high school I took my CNA course at my local community college earning my certificate. I then got a job at a near by assisted living caring for senior citizens of all abilities and disabilities. I worked there for six months before a new Transitional Care Unit was opened in my building. I was then working 24-32 hours a week while attending full time school caring for patients coming in and out of the hospital needing physical rehabilitation which is what my unit specialized in. I cared for them in ways of connecting to their emotional needs, feeding/preparing meals for them, bathing, mobilizing them, getting dressed, and most importantly meeting them where they're at. In my personal life I have a blind grandmother and one with Alzheimer's.
