In the summer of 2000 I was getting ready to begin college to work towards my goal of working in the mental health helping those with addiction. While waiting for my classes to begin I was asked if I wanted to help a old neighbor who was a close family friend. He was in his 70's and was returning home after months of rehab recovering from a stroke. I never started those classes, I had found the "job" for me. I ended up caring for that man until he passed in 2015. I have spent the last 20 years providing care to seniors and individuals with disabilities. 2007 is when I started my 8 years with a home care agency and began providing end of life care to hospice patients in their homes. In 2016 I left home care and began working in assisted living/memory care facilities. This year I decided to try something different and took a job offer from a company who provides care and support to individuals with disabilities.
