My experience with children who have special needs started from youth when I found out at the age of 12 that my older sister had Developmental Delays. Because of the great impact my sister had on me through my younger years, I decided to study Mental Health and Human Services with a concentration in Child Development at Franciscan University, OH, where I graduated with a Bachelors in Science in 2012. From there on, I have been working in the Childcare Field whether it would be in the daycare center, in home daycare or nanny care. In 2013 my husband and I welcomed our son in to the world, who little did we know, would be both Medically Complex and Developmentally Delayed due to his complicated health history. In 2018 he would be diagnosed "medically rare". This has even broadened my knowledge in the Childcare Field even more and has lead me to want to serve families of Children with Special Healthcare Needs and Medically Complex.
