I have been a nanny for 2 different families with children on the Autism spectrum from severe to highly functioning. I have engaged the children in education activities, taken them on outings, prepped snacks and meals, and provided a safe environment. I worked in the classroom for 9 years with special needs children as well who were also all over the special education spectrum and am familiar with IEP's and working on goals with the families and children to meet their goals. I love working with special needs children because they just warm my heart. They have so much love to give. It is very rewarding to see them develop new skills as they grow and learn. It is just an amazing experience and I enjoy knowing I am helping to make a difference in the children's lives as well as in the parents' lives.
