I have worked in senior care for about two years now and have loved every minute of it. I specialize in memory care. All jobs I have held in a nursing facility I have been the lead aide on the Memory Care Unit with residents affected by Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Parkinson's. I have not only special training with this type of care, but a heart for it that I never knew I had until my first experience on a memory care unit. It has its ups and downs and I know that it is hard on not only the senior, but the family members as well. Seniors are not treated with the dignity and respect they deserve anymore when they are put into homes. The caregivers always give 100%, but corporations see the elderly as mere dollar signs, causing quality of care to become exploited. I would love to provide my quality care to someone with the consideration and respect we all hope to have when we get old and gray.
