I have worked with children in some capacity (tutoring, babysitting, camp counselor, etc) since I was in high school. After college, I served for two years as an AmeriCorps member in an after-school literacy intervention program at a Title I school in East Oakland. In this position, I worked both as a teacher's aide and an after-school teacher with my own 2nd-grade class of about 10-20 students. Currently, I work full-time as an intervention teacher at that school. In my current position I conduct math and language acquisition intervention (Kindergarten-1st-grade), run my own class of about 7-10 newcomer students where I teach them English (3rd-5th-grade), and run specials. In my more professional nannying experience I also have experience working with children with down syndrome, those on the autism spectrum, ADHD, and those who have experienced trauma. I do not engage with ABA practices under any circumstances for ethical reasons. I am ONLY available for full-time work in Summer.
