I have experience caring for those with special needs both in the hospital and classroom setting. My mother is a preschool special education teacher and I have helped in her classroom many times over the years. For my college work study position, I spent two years working with St. Anthony's Program at Duquesne University. I assisted in teaching special needs students ages 18-21 the skills needed to be as independent as possible. I have two years of experience working in the emergency department and ICU at a local hospital while in nursing school where I have gained valuable skills through my patients. I have grown up helping my aunt who has Spina Bifida and continues to inspire me everyday.
