To whom it may concern:
It is with great pleasure that I am writing this reference letter for Katie. I have worked with Katie professionally for the past three years. In the three years that I have worked alongside Katie, I have had the chance to see what an exceptional employee and mentor Katie is. She is always willing to go the extra mile for each child and his/her family. Katie is a warm, compassionate and responsible employee.
No matter how tough the job can be, Katie approaches every situation with determination and a big smile. She has shown everyone that we work with what it means to be a child care provider. There was a time when Katie took over the role of site coordinator at the school she worked at. Although this is a responsibility that she has taken on previously, this time was different. She received an email from a child's mother stating that she would not be able to pick up her child. While he has a list of people that the family approves to pick up the child, the mother stated that she did not want her estranged husband to pick the child up as he may be drunk. Katie made a correct judgment call and emailed the director of our program to take over. The director visited the school that afternoon and another family member picked up the child. While Katie did not have to do this (as the father is on the approved list to pick up his child), Katie put the well being of the child above protocol. Her concern is always the child and this is just one of several times when Katie has shown that his motto is true: "Where what counts most is kids!"
I firmly believe that Katie will make an excellent child care provider, as she is a kind, loving and creative person who is always willing to make each family happy. Please contact me if you have any further concerns or questions. I am more than happy to discuss them with you.
