My name is Katie, and I'm a kindergarten teacher living in Uptown Chicago. I like to say that I've been taking care of children since I was one myself, because I started volunteering in my church's children's ministry when I was 10. Since then, I have over a decade of experience with children, including babysitting, nannying, summer camps, K-2 theater camps, tutoring, teacher-aiding in elementary schools, and performing as Disney princesses for children's birthday parties and events. I also spent one summer running my church's children's ministry. I have taught for three years - my first year as an ESL specialist to grades 3-6, working with both ESL and native-speaking kids to implement reading groups, and then the past two years as a kindergarten teacher.
