I took care of my friends mother for at least three years at the end of her life on a live-in basis. I had complete charge of all her personal, medical and all care she needed until her last visit to emergency hospice when she passed away. The home-health care nurse that visited once per week said she had never seen such a well-kept patient and was always impressed with the passion, care and attention I gave to her as she was my friend, also. I love being with people and helping them, especially when they cannot help themselves. I just was contacted by a friend from church and visited her elderly father daily when he went for a very short few day stay here in Hayward, CA. I know they would be happy to give me a reference for care-giving as they have known me for several years. This was no pay situation just a friend helping a friend. The care I gave for about 3 years was in-kind, as I lived there and all my needs were met with a small pay for personal necessities, etc.
