Before I began working as a nanny, I worked at two preschools in Jersey City over the course of two years. At the first school, I worked as an assistant teacher during the school year as well as the head teacher for the summer program.
At the second school, I transitioned from assistant teacher of the toddler program to assistant director/head teacher of the preschool class. The preschoolers and I 'traveled' the world, drinking mango lassi in India, dancing to samba in Brazil, and speaking Italian in Italy.
As a nanny, some of my official responsibilities include all child related housework, potty training, and creating a daily schedule comprised of classes, the ever important nap, trips to playgrounds and museums as well as play dates. I am especially skilled at answering 14 whys in a row, making up songs on the spot, constructing train track layouts, getting dirty (or staying neat) with arts and crafts, and reciting Bear Snores On from memory.
I am familiar with the Hamptons, especially Southampton, Sag Harbor, and Montauk.
In addition to my experience as a teacher and a nanny, I have years of babysitting experience. While I was a preschool teacher, I babysat for many parents, some as needed and others on a regular basis.
