My previous experience with a special needs patient has been in pediatrics. I worked with a 5-year-old boy with Angelman's syndrome. The patient required assistance with all activities of daily living including bathing, eating, dressing, toileting and exercising. He was also diagnosed with Autism and epilepsy. During my nursing classes and working with this client, I learned to be a care giver to a person with multiple needs. Currently, I am a nursing student at CPCC. This semester, we were required to complete a clinical rotation in several psychiatric settings. In class, we studied and review different types of behavioral health issues. Understanding eating and control disorders was a part of our curriculum. This area interests me because I am a recovered eating disorder patient. I have not have an eating disorder for 10 years. Getting a second chance on my life and career could not have been possible if this recovery did not take place. I would be very grateful to help another overcome this illness. Thank you, Karen

I would strongly recommend Karen as a caregiver. She is naturally someone who has the gift to help others, she stays calm during emergencies and she always puts people at ease. I have worked for Karen as well as been a long-time friend of Karen so I am positive in her attributes and can speak with confidence on her assets. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information or go into further detail. Thank you.
