I am a physical therapy student in my final year of study with a special interest in pediatrics, adult neurology and oncology care. I have been lucky enough to work with multiple children with special needs and their siblings, and these kids just never cease to amaze me. Two of the four children I currently care for have a diagnosis of cerebral palsy (the 11-year-old is has spastic CP and is able to walk with a posterior walker and assistance, and the 3-year-old is non-verbal and not able to walk even with assistance) and have cared for a child with autism in the past. Both of the children with CP have seizures so I have been trained in seizure protocol, and they both also have swallowing difficulties. I am very comfortable caring for these children and would be lucky to meet other kids like them and their siblings-- it has been a wonderful, extremely rewarding experience so far and I would love the opportunity to continue this work.
