My accomplishments include... CPR, First Aid, DRDP, and ECERS. I'm on the honor roll and the Dean's list.
M experience began at Long Beach City College Child Development Center, Long Beach, CA. I first started out as a volunteer in the summer of 2005 to 2007 in the parent participation program. My duties were to help with preparing snacks, supervising activities, and supervising children on the playground. I began working in 2007 as a Child Care Assistant II, Nutritionist, and a substitute. Continuing working at LBCC Child Development Center my job description included... floater to relieve staff for breaks, set up nutrition for snacks and lunch, I was responsible for making up the menus, and I would substitute when needed as CCA II or Associate teacher.
My last employment was with Young Horizons. I was a floater assisting in the classrooms as an associate teacher, then I had the opportunity to be an associate teacher for the infant class until December 16th, 2011, as I was laid-off due to Young Horizons Center closing at the end of January because of the budget cuts, and there was no openings at their other centers.
I have an excellent ability to manage classrooms of children at varying levels, while meeting rigorous performance standards and demanding schedules. Also building structure, and safe and comfortable environment. I have a strong ability to individualize the curriculum to meet the needs of all levels of children in the same classroom.
A major strength that I would bring is my successful experience as a full-time preschool teacher. With strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills, I am confident that I can be a valuable asset to the children. I feel that with my strong background in ECE, I have the ability to assimilate new ideas and concepts, and dedication to children that would be of great benefits as well. I strongly believe that all children can learn.
