I started babysitting at the ages of 13 for families with one child up to a family with 5 children. I would keep kids occupied by doing fun age related games/crafts and so forth. At the age of 15 I was a lifeguard that did lessons with children and adults. I kept a steady pace with child care and babysitting thru all of high school and into the summers. I then moved to college and got a job for a behavioral health group home setting with 5 severe mental health issues from deafness to blindness, the group home I worked in had the most severe clients with mental health. I worked in a hospital on the oncology floor and detox floor as a patient care tech and duties included daily hygiene cares, bed baths, ambulating patients, blood draws, catheter care including insertion and discontinued, feeding tubes and vitals. My last job was in Beresford SD thru LSS. We had ranges of ages from 11-18 with anger issues and we were there to make them as independent and successful as possible, then LSS changed to mental health care and so we had clients with severe anger, PTSD and many more, but with all my jobs I have gained so much knowledge and respect for the clients I worked for and all the knowledge they taught me.
