I took care of my father, who had a severe and progressive form of dementia, for the last year of his life.
I did everything he needed so he was able to stay in his home and not in a facility. His care included, but was not limited to, meal preparation, feeding, bathing, dressing, medication administration, shopping, AM and PM care, scheduling and transportation to medical appointments, and full time supervision. This was managed all while caring for my three young children.
I'm very organized and I love detailed lists.
I enjoy spending time with and caring for people who need assistance while helping them to retain and maintain as much of their independence as possible. I love learning who people are and how they became who they are by listening to their stories of prior times.
