In 2009, I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Human Development. At UCD, I completed over 50 Early Childcare Education units (generally, only 12 ECE units are required for CA preschool teachers). As such, I'm well-versed in everything from social to emotional to cognitive development in infants, toddlers, school-aged children. I also interned at an on-campus UCD preschool for 100 hours, which involved leading groups of children in interactive instruction and play. I was also a church nursery caretaker in high school and a childcare provider at a health club. I entered college as a premedicine major with the intention of pursuing a career in pediatrics, but ultimately, decided to go to law school.
While applying for law schools and prepping for exams, I spent one year nannying (for 50 hours each week). I ended up continuing to nanny throughout my 3 years of law school (it always was my favorite "job"!) and logged another 1,500 hours with various families. I graduated with my J.D. in May 2014.
