My little brother was diagnosed with cancer at age 5. He has been in remission for about 5 years. I have always taken care of him. I fed him when he was unable to feel himself and I have him daily growth hormone shots. I now volunteer and go to camps for cancer patients and their siblings whom I cared for young patients for a week in the mountains. At school I am in a club called Best Buddies. In Best Buddies we deal with a variety of teenagers with special needs. Everyone gets paired up with a buddy and you need to help and interact with them throughout the year. You are required to spend time with your buddy outside of school and build a lasting friendship. I have fallen in love with my four best buddies. They have Down's syndrome and autism. I was given the opportunity to supervise, feed, care for, and take my buddies on walks. It was the best experience of my life and I plan on continuing my volunteer work throughout the rest of my life.
