I have over 20 years of experience working as a babysitter, nanny, camp counselor, and substitute teacher with kids ages 3 mos- 13 years old. With that age span, I am familiar with many of life's challenges: learning a sleep schedule, teething, potty-training, mobility development, communicating, homework, sports, social development, etc. I also have experience with special needs and was a volunteer at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, so I am open to many different situations and circumstances. I have a BA in Film and Media Arts and enjoy cooking, hiking, art, and yoga. I have my own reliable car, love pets, and don't smoke. When I am working with kids, I love to stay creative and spontaneous, make up games and songs, go on adventures, and provide a safe, open environment for them to learn. Jen worked with us for almost 3 years, taking care of our son from age 2 1/2 to 5. She developed a wonderful relationship with our son and was very tuned in to his changing needs and phases as he grew older. She came up with lots of new activities for him to do, and she was generally proactive and needed very little guidance from us. She really cares about her work and is able to be warm, loving, and also firm when it comes to discipline. She was very low maintenance and a welcome presence while we were working from home. We only stopped working with her when we moved out of town.
