5th grade teacher interested in getting into tutoring after school hours! School can be hard, especially for those students who start off the year already a grade level or two (or sometimes more) behind. As a teacher, I know the value of one-on-one time to sit down with a student, get to know and see what they know and understand--and build off their prior knowledge. The first day of school I promise my own students that I will explain and teach things 30 different ways if I have to, all I ask for is an open mind, and the promise to never give up in return. School was never "easy" for me as a child, and I watched my own sister struggle with dyslexia growing up. I have some experience working with students with learning disabilities as well as social/emotional challenges. Let me know if you would be interested in discussing details further!
