I have worked with both special needs children and adults. When I was younger, I cared for a 5yr old boy with Autism for 6-8 months. As a Home Health Aide, I have worked with quite a few different disabilities and/or physical ailments. What I haven't worked with, I am willing to learn about in order to care for an individual. I enjoy caring for people because I believe everyone deserves to have the best quality of life possible. Everyone needs care and attention and if I am given the opportunity I will provide the best I'm capable of. From the time I was 16-21 years old, I was a Home Health Aide for various companies. My duties ranged from a companion to full hands-on care. Outside of that, I have had several nanny positions where I have had to care for children with special needs; from hearing or eyesight trouble to Autism, Alzheimer's and Dementia, to a variety of mental health issues. Most recently I held a position with the Judevine Center for Autism where I cared for three teenage sisters who all had severe Autism. It is definitely a challenge, but in knowing that each child and each situation is different (as well as each and every day!), I believe I can always find a way to solve any given problem.
