About Jean

I can work with children ages 3 and up. I have been working with children and teens in a professional capacity my entire life. I never want their day or mine to be boring. I can provide homework help and supplemental activities such as art, games, crafts and music. In my younger days, I was a lifeguard, swim instructor, preschool teacher and daycare director. Later, when I went into social services, I continued to work with children and teens through positions such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Student Assistance. I think the most important thing in caregiving is to be able to have fun with the children you serve while maintaining a safe environment. Staying calm, redirecting behavior, modeling and reinforcing positive social interactions are some of the tools I use. Lastly, I am certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid.
