I'm currently an Occupational Therapy Graduate Student in a university. I just finished my first year and begin fieldwork, as well as some additional coursework, next semester. All of my experience has come from volunteering at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in DC and working with my older family members. I believe that everyone deserves love, respect, someone to spend time with and listen to them. I have found that most home caregivers are female and that some clients would prefer a male aide/companion/friend. If you think that might be the case for your situation, I'm here for you!
I am not an expert in geriatrics, but I build genuine connections with clients which in turn help me understand them, their wants, their needs and their goals. With this information, each day presents various opportunities to achieve those things. With my past experience, self-motivation, optimism, effective communication, social/interpersonal skills and occupational therapy-oriented mindset it would be my absolute pleasure to work with you and/or your loved one(s). I am flexible on times and pretty much anything else so please reached out to me if you have any questions or interest.
