Good Morning, Afternoon, or Evening!
My name is Jan and I recently retired from teaching 6th Grade World History at North Fort Myers Academy of the Arts. Before I write any more about my teaching career, let me give you a little background information.
I was born in Norfolk, Virginia, but moved to Carrollton, Georgia and eventually to Salisbury, Maryland. My father was a college professor at the college.
Upon high school graduation, I attended Bethany College in West Virginia and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history and a minor in English. Eventually I met my husband, married him, and worked in his company.
My husband thought he would like moving to Florida and it was fine with me. At that time we had 2 children - one boy entering 1st grade, and a daughter entering 5th. Since my husband had sold his business and was now working for a contractor, I decided to return to college and take the necessary courses to certify to teach.
