About Janae

I started caring for children when I was 14 years old. Both my parents worked in the evenings and needed help caring for my two youngest brothers. I was responsible for dinner, baths, getting them ready for bed and helping with housework. I also enjoyed babysitting for family, as well as friends of the family after school and on occasional "date nights". I also had fun volunteering in our church nursery. The summer of 2007, I had the amazing opportunity to work as a live-in nanny for a family in Hamptons, NY. I cared for three lovely children (9, 8 and 4). I was responsible for pick-ups and drop-offs for school and extra curricular activities, helping with homework, making the meals, the grocery shopping, getting them ready for bed, some light housework and laundry and providing basic learning services for the youngest child. From September of 2008 to December of 2013 I worked as a competitive gymnastics coach, teaching beginner to advanced level gymnastics skills. Some activities I enjoy doing when working with children are going for walks, exploring nature, playing sports, arts and crafts, as well as singing and listening to/ making music.
