Over the last year, I have returned to the U. S. A and pursued a Master's in Teaching from the University of Puget Sound in Washington State. I have been so amazed by the amount of support I have received from all my professors and mentors in teaching. It has enhanced my once linear perspective of teaching and now I understand teaching in a more complete sense (even though I can grow so much more).
A new dynamic of teaching I have been fond of is reflection. This reflective aspect of teaching has been such an area of growth. Being able to use the information I gathered from a classroom and see how I can better serve my students with a lesson/unit that we are working with has made being a teacher much more engaging. With my time teaching at Gig Harbor High school for three months, I understood the power and the necessity of being a reflective teacher and using it as much as possible in my practice.
