I Have 7 years of experience, I have the proven ability to foster and enhance social, academic, communication and life skills for children with autism and other special needs ages ranging from 2-21. My experience ranges from special needs classroom leadership to in-home individualized therapy work. I also worked specifically with a deaf autistic child utilizing my strength working with non-verbal and limited communication children. I have been able to implement PECs systems, ASL or augmentative communication devices as a primary or reliable communication device. I have also worked as a lead teacher under a special education teacher for ages 7-12. I have been trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and have implemented this therapy with children exhibiting a range of aggressive and self-injurious behaviors, including being trained in and implementing Crisis prevention Interventions (CPI). I am a quick learner with strong communication skills. Working with special needs. I am creative and a quick learner. I am all about trying to engage children by playing board games, doing arts and crafts, playing sports, or making up games and let imagination lead the way.
