I understand that some students learn differently and may have unique learning styles. As a tutor, I work with the student and the family to find what learning style works best for the student. I often find activities that combine kinesthetic, audible, and visual learning styles for studying vocabulary, latin roots, and spelling words. I'm understanding of student's needs for movement and alternates to sitting in a chair at a table. If your child learns better when they stand on their hands, by all means, let's learn! Helene arrives with just a minute to spare getting in my car to get to work. Usually leaving me a minute late clocking in. This lasted for about a week before short noticing me that she no longer wanted to come to our home and that she needed me to bring my son to her. This went from "no we will come to you because of safety issues, my home is being renovated". To "I can smell your kitten on your son and if I can smell it others can too". We are very clean people. And it gave me such a bad complex that my husband came home to me crying and scrubbing the floors. I dropped my son off with her the next morning to see a house with animals. No different than we had. Despite my husband's advice to fire her on the spot, I gave her one more day. I fired her the following. I've never experienced this level of unprofessional-ism.
