I have worked with children with all types of special needs. I grew up working with children with Down syndrome, autism, mental illnesses, and medically-high risked children. My mother was a special needs teacher. I was a special needs caregiver for a man with autism for over a year. I was a one-on-one teacher for 2 children with Down syndrome and to a child with autism at a local elementary school in Missouri. I was an after-school nanny for a child with Down syndrome for 2 years.
