About Heather

Hello, My name is Heather. I am a graduate of Northwest Nannies Institute. I have worked 2 contracts with Disney Cruise Line. I worked a year and a half as a nanny for a family on Mercer Island. I have also worked 5 years at Build-A-Bear Workshop. I worked in before and after school day care. I want to be a nanny because I enjoy working with children and their families. I love seeing the children grow and learning more about the world around them. I have really enjoyed working with school age children and helping them start to become independent. I have also enjoyed working with infants giving them a good start. I worked with a family for a year and a half and loved seeing the children grow and develop. I also had fun helping with the family dog. I spent three years at a before and after school day care, running activities, taking children on field trips, and preparing breakfast and snacks for them. I chose to attend Northwest Nannies Institute because I wanted to learn more about caring for children of all ages. I have taken 200 hours in Child Development learning physical, cognitive, language and emotional development for children birth though school age. I also learned how to select actives that will be fun and educational for each age group. I took classes in communication; health; safety; etiquette; nutrition; and household management, all of which have prepared me to be the best professional nanny possible. I enjoy riding horses, doing crafts, scrap booking, card making, machine embroidery, spending time with children, and taking care of most animals. I have enjoyed visiting new places, but it is always nice to come home. I also enjoy being outside with the children playing and being energetic or inside playing board games and make-believe play.
