Hi! I am 23 years old and I have recently graduated from Temple University. I studied Early Childhood Education and now I am a third grade teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. I have babysat for several different families with children from the ages of newborn to 11-years-old. I recently completed student teaching in a third grade classroom. I have also worked at an inner-city summer camp with children entering kindergarten and first grade. In addition, I have recently worked in preschools as a Jumpstart Corps Member. My duties included assisting the teacher, working with children (ages 3-5), and providing sessions/teaching students using lesson plans. Additionally, I have worked as a teacher in an early learning center which catered to students with ages ranging from 2-5 years old who have English as a second language. My duties include teaching the students letters, numbers, and shapes and educating the students during play time. I have also taken several education courses which included hands-on field work in classrooms ranging from first to fourth grade. During high school, I took a Child Development Course, which gave me hands-on experience in working with children between 3 and 5 years old, and inspired me to become a teacher. Prior to working with young children, I worked at a nursing home for a year and a half and tutored middle school students. I am super passionate about working with children because I want to make a positive impact on our future adults, and they remind me how important it is to have fun! Even though I am 23, I am just a mature big kid.
