I first began working with this population in 2014 as an afterschool care teacher. I was primarily responsible for the students with Down Syndrome because of the exceptional rapport I was able to build. I then focused my studies on Psychology and Child Development. I also received a certification to work with intellectually and developmentally disabled populations, while in school. For the last 3 years, I have worked in various roles at a Residential Treatment Facility, designed to offer rehabilitative services for those with severe mental illness. I have lots of experience with ADHD and ASD. I am also certified in Mental Health First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention.
