Hi! I am an elementary school teacher in the M. District. I hold a dual bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Rider University, as well as a master's degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities from Kean University. I have just begun my Plus30 in Reading and Literacy online from San Diego University. I have been an elementary school teacher for seven consecutive years. I also taught at a local camp in Summit for seven consecutive summers. I am certified to teach all subjects K-5th grade and Special Education all subjects K-12th grade. I tutor all subjects such as: reading, writing, grammar, phonics and mathematics, science, social studies and handwriting. I tutor children in test prep skills in reading, writing, language arts, grammar, and mathematics, as well as strategies. I am currently available Monday through Friday 3:45 p.m. -8:00 p.m. and weekends I am flexible! Gina helped my two children (3rd and 5th grade) for over a year with Language Arts. She is very well-organized and experienced in teaching at this level. She was very flexible with her schedule. She is prompt and came well prepared with materials to our house. She worked well in bringing out the best in the children; focusing on a variety of reading and writing strategies as well as ensuring that they enjoyed the session. She was flexible with the materials and adjusted according to the children's needs. She was cognizant if they were tired/had a bad day and at the same time brought out the best in their work and keeping them on task. Both children enjoyed her sense of humor and teaching style. They didn't feel intimidated and felt they were learning and being stretched. Gina also regularly made time to update me on progress. In a nutshell, Gina's personal style, ability to relate, flexibility, experience in teaching, and communicate effectively are all reasons for which we enjoy working with her.
