I've been working with mainly children (but also teens and adults) with special needs for 4+ years. Most of these individuals were on the autism spectrum, but I also have extensive experience working with individuals with mild-moderate mental retardation, blindness, deafness, cerebral palsy, etc. Special needs calls to me in a way that nothing ever has in my life, and I enjoy it to the maximum. There is something special about doing your best to make another human as happy as they can be in a world where things can be confusing and difficult. It's truly the best.
