I am a graduate student if Gordon College with a degree in moderate disabilities grades k-8. In my undergrad I studied Psychology and Recreation and Leisure Studies with a concentration in special needs. I have been a seasonal employee with Camp Horizons, a summer camp and weekend program for individuals with developmental disabilities. I have worked with many types of Developmental Disabilities including the entire Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy, ADHD and ADD, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, as well as other differences such as being blind, deaf or in a wheelchair, and many more. I have been trained how to help people with activities of daily living such as fine motor skills, morning routine including shower, bathroom, teeth brushing, dressing, and preparing and feeding meals. I worked as a special education kindergarten teacher in Lawrence for children who are on the autism spectrum. I now work for the swampscott public school system, as an ABA teacher for the life skills program.

Emily works with your family member and kids for them as if she is part of your family. She's extremely creative with teaching in artistic adult/child across all domains. Emily taught our daughter to clean up after snack and to not take food from someone else 's plate ... quite a feat in autism-land. Emily's creativity also shined with arts and crafts whether it was making play doh or using peel and stick letters to create words she had my daughter's complete attention! I believe Emily would be a great asset to you team and your child would be lucky to have her! A true gift!
