This is my 12th year in the world of disability, and I cannot imagine myself anywhere else. My experience began in high school, where I was a special recreation camp counselor and member of my local Best Buddies chapter. In college, I continued those involvements, while also conducting research on autism spectrum disorder and how to promote better health outcomes for women with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I spent my summers working with children and young adults with disabilities in Oregon, Thailand, and Chicago. After college, I worked full-time at Best Buddies International before pursuing graduate school in Special Education at Vanderbilt. I recently graduated with my M. Ed. and K-12 Special Education teaching certification. Above all, I am passionate about helping people with disabilities (and their families) live full, enviable lives.
