I am a caring mother of two who has both personal and professional experience working with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. I have cared for ages ranging from infants to the elderly. I have worked with feeding tubes, catheter care, colostomy bags, diabetes, seizure protocols, and special dietary needs ranging from diabetic meals to puree. My experiences come from working in field for the last seven years, volunteering, and caring for family members with disabilities. I am also a psychology major, and will one day start my own company providing services for people with disabilities. I love what I do. This is not a job or even a career for me. It is a way of life. When I see a person with a disability, I simply see a person. My goal is to help these people live life to the fullest extent, and to help them to develop and celebrate all their uniqueness and the gifts that they have within themselves.
