I am a highly qualified teacher with 22 years of teaching experience. Before that, I was an RN at Mercy Medical Center. Before that, I owned and operated a home daycare. Last year I homeschooled my severely autistic 7th grader. We became very close. I also assisted with behavior management of a young student for Chrysalis Charter School.
My specialty is project based learning with an emphasis on science. Although I have taught physics, my gifts lay elsewhere in Natural Science, Earth and Biology. I love biology. Since I was a nurse, I sat for the board certification test and earned my secondary teaching credential.
I currently teach 2 GED classes. One for men, one for women. When I got my secondary credential in Biology, I had been teaching multiple subjects online and in classroom to 9th -12th graders. They attended and I tutored them with their online courses. After I obtained my No Child Left Behind certificate, I headed up the NGSS representation of Tehema County, 8 years ago..
