I am warm and caring, as well as fun, energetic, and flexible. I have a lot of experience, as well! I have over 5 years working with AHRC (I have just moved to be closer to family, and I am happy to provide references). I have worked as a direct care provider in a day rehabilitation facility for individuals needing near total support to individuals requiring support due to diagnoses of an intellectual disability plus dementia. I have served individuals who needed to learn to use alternative communication devices, and I have worked with feeding individuals with many different diet and liquid restrictions. I am comfortable working with individuals who needs a lot of support with behavior plans. I am comfortable working with individuals who have toileting needs, and who have medical needs including seizures. I have recently acted as a Medicaid Service Coordinator, where I have been an advocate for a caseload of 35+ individuals, and I am familiar with respite, self-advocacy, individualized service plans, guardianship, and many ways to network and find services. I have Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences, and attended the University of Iowa towards a Master's in Speech Language Pathology. I have some knowledge of ASL. Thank you for your consideration.
