At the College of Charleston, I majored in Elementary Education with Early Childhood. As a teacher, I worked with children who had diabetes, behavioral disorders, learning problems (Add/ADHD), and special education needs. Students from the special education classroom, who were able to, would take turns visiting my class regularly, for good behavior. They would be the teachers helper for a few hours. This helped both my students and them, make good friends and understand special conditions. I know when I was a teenager I had a child that I babysat for. He had severe Autism and the family wasn't sure what to call his unique qualities. I learned with them. I babysat him and his sister for about 5 years. But once doctors and the family discovered the name of the condition, the family moved to go to the best school that they could find for Autism. It was sad to see the family move but that's what you do. I always provided accommodation's for any of my students with special needs. All I needed was for the child or parents to tell me, even though I was usually already aware before they knew. They were so young. I always tried to be aware of any special needs and accommodating to those needs. If I didn't realize, most students felt comfortable telling me how they felt and what they needed. I was the lucky one to have been babysitting the little Autistic boy when I did, because I didn't know that he had Autism. Babysitting for him helped me to understand special needs of children much better. I am here also for any of your pet care needs; such as, walking dogs, feeding animals, spending time with animals, playing with animals, or pet-sitting for the week/weekend. I will love and treat your pet as my own.
