I have 3 years experience working with people with disabilities, both children and adults, in camp settings and in-home care facilities. This involved personal care, behavior management, teaching art classes, and working on social skills, as well as a lot of patience. I am a college graduate and took coursework in special education and child development. I also have experience nannying for three small children all under 5 years old. What I love most about both typical children and people with special needs is the new and different perspectives I see as I learn how they view the world. I am comfortable and get along well with children and adults of all ages, and am ready and willing to take on new diagnoses and needs. I have a BA in Psychology and Studio Art, and have experience teaching art to typical kids and kids with special needs, and am aware of sensory needs. I am very active and engaging and I like to get the people I work with involved in activities and out in the community.
