My experience in senior care stems from taking care of my grandmother when I was a teenager and now I assist my mom. I've helped with bathing, feeding, changing clothes/diapers, lifting in and out of bed or chairs, support walking, etc. I'm not the best cook but I can do my best to help with meal prep and I absolutely love house cleaning. Apart from the "practical" aspect of it, I believe there should be a "companionship" aspect as well. I've seen my share caregivers that are very methodical (as they should be) but lack the empathetic component of handling other people. I am also a good listener and believe they deserve the utmost respect. It is how I would want my mom to be treated if I were looking for someone to care for her. I am a fluent Portuguese speaker, having lived there for 15 years and graduated there as well. I can also understand and speak some Spanish if needed.
